I started baking at about two years old. It’s something I love and my favorite time to bake is around the holidays. Food is such a big part of the holidays and desserts are my favorite.
I usually make cookies but I enjoy making cakes as well. They tend to be more work so you usually have to allow for more time and mess.
Christmas Cranberry Cake

Ingredients
2 eggs
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup cranberries fresh or frozen
1 tablespoon orange zest
1 tablespoon flour
optional: powdered sugar
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Allow eggs to stand at room temperature for 30 minutes. Grease a 9 inch round pan, set pan aside.
Stir together flour and baking powder, set aside.
In a medium mixing bowl beat eggs with electric mixer on high for about 4 minutes or until thick. Gradually add sugar, beating on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 4 to 5 minutes.
In a small saucepan heat milk and butter until butter melts; add to batter, mix until combined. Pour into prepared pan.
Mix cranberries and orange zest. Lightly coat in flour. Gently fold into batter.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool cake.
Once cool, dust with sifted powder sugar.
